Review distribution from up to 500 of the most recent English-language reviews in the analysis window (Mon–Sun UTC). May differ from Steam's own "Recent Reviews" label, which counts all languages.
AI Sentiment & Themes
Up to 500 English-language reviews from the same window are sent to Claude for analysis. Claude identifies recurring themes, classifies each as positive/mixed/negative, and surfaces representative quotes. Themes with clearly opposing camps are split into "Praised" and "Criticized" entries instead of collapsed into a single mixed theme.
Spike Analysis
After themes are identified, a separate Claude pass evaluates each theme for anomalies. Claude determines a spike by looking at meaningful week-over-week theme changes, new themes with notable volume, or clear one-time events. Claude then generates a hypothesis for each spike & includes representative quotes. It also dismisses themes that are it views as stable week-over-week or seem like noise.
Note: analysis is scoped to English-language reviews to reflect the English-speaking audience and manage cost.
